The Tube is the easiest way. It’s also the most confusing if you’re not paying attention. You want a station called Holborn or Tottenham Court Road. Pick one. They both work.
If you take the Central or Piccadilly line, get off at Holborn. Exit the station, and you’ll see a big street called Southampton Row. Walk straight for about five minutes. You’ll pass a Pret A Manger. Don’t stop for a sandwich yet—the museum café is overpriced anyway.
Prefer the Northern or Central line? Tottenham Court Road is your stop. Exit, walk east on Great Russell Street, and bam. You’re there in under ten minutes. You’ll know it’s the right place when you see a giant, Greek-looking building that screams, “I steal things from other countries and display them beautifully.”
The Bus: For the Adventurous (or Cheapskates)
Buses are slower, but you get to see the city. And they’re cheaper if you use an Oyster card. Take the number 7, 59, or 188. Get off at the stop called New Oxford Street. Look for the giant columns. You can’t miss it.
Just be warned: London buses are like a box of chocolates. You never know when you’ll get a driver who brakes like they’re avoiding a pothole the size of a small car. Hold onto the pole, friend.
