Pop off the front cover. It usually clips on. If it doesn’t, check for screws. Don’t force it—you’re a cleaner, not the Hulk. Inside, you’ll see the filter. Slide it out.
Take that filter and vacuum it first. Then wash it with mild soap and warm water. Let it dry completely. If it’s truly nasty, just buy a new one. Your lungs will thank you.
