I once heard a story from a bloke who worked at a fancy plant shop near Ant’s house. Ant came in to buy a peace lily for his kitchen. He spent ten minutes asking about soil drainage—like a proper dad. The worker said he was lovely, and even offered to carry the pot to his car.
And on the other side of London, a taxi driver once picked up Dec from a corner shop. Dec had run out of milk for his kids’ cereal. He chatted about the price of bread and tipped a fiver. Normal blokes, living normal lives.
These tiny, unremarkable moments are why we care. They remind us that fame is just a job title. Underneath the sequins and autocue, Ant and Dec are just two geezers trying to get through the day without losing their keys.
