The course starts near Tower Bridge, which sounds iconic. It is. Until you realize you’re running over a bridge that’s also used for cars, buses, and that one tourist taking a selfie in the middle of the road. Surprising fact: the London Half Marathon shares parts of the route with the full marathon, but only the pretty bits. You don’t get to see the dodgy underpass where pigeons plot your demise.
The race finishes in Greenwich Park, a lovely green space that, on race day, smells like sweaty sausage rolls and cheap deodorant. The last kilometer is a gentle uphill that feels like climbing Everest in Crocs. Pro tip: if you see the Cutty Sark, you’re almost done. If you see a guy dressed as a giant teabag, you’re definitely in London.
The Weather Gamble
March 22nd, 2026? The average temperature is about 8°C (46°F). That’s cold enough to make your nipples feel like they’re starring in a horror movie. But don’t overdress! You’ll start the race wearing gloves, a hat, and a parka, and by mile 5 you’ll be discarding them like a snake shedding its skin. Surprising fact: organizers collect abandoned clothes and donate them to charity. Your old fleece might end up on a mannequin in a thrift store. Or on another runner next year.
