Now we add Champions League or Europa League into the mix. Suddenly, time becomes a foreign language. 8:00 PM UK time is the standard, but don’t bet your life on it. Sometimes it’s 5:45 PM—right in the middle of your dinner.
And if we’re playing in Azerbaijan or Greece? Forget about it. You’ll be setting an alarm for 3:00 AM, whispering “COYG” into the dark like a lunatic. Worth it? Always. But your sleep schedule will file a formal complaint.
Why there is no early Premier League game today as unusual Arsenal FC
Rhetorical question time: why can’t they just tell us a year in advance? No, that would be too easy. The fixture release is its own annual drama—like a soap opera, but with more conflicting kickoff times.
The Cup Trick
FA Cup and Carabao Cup rounds? Those are the wildcards. You’ll see “TBC” next to the time for weeks. It’s like the universe is saying, “We know you want to plan your life, but no.”
Then, two days before the match, they announce a 7:45 PM start on a Wednesday. You scramble to reschedule everything—including your dog’s walk. But you do it. Because it’s Arsenal. We’re all a little bit addicted, aren’t we?
The real trick is checking the official site. Or just following that one Twitter account that screams “KICK OFF CONFIRMED” at 2 AM. That’s your source. That’s your lifeline.
