The NFL has this annoying habit of “flexing” games. That means they can move a 1:00 PM game to 4:25 PM or even Sunday Night Football. They announce this about two weeks ahead, but if you’re living under a rock (like me), you might miss the memo. Check ESPN or the official 49ers website for the latest update. Seriously, do it right now.
For today? I’m betting on a 4:25 PM Eastern start if it’s a big matchup. But if it’s a random game against a team with a losing record, expect an early bird special at 1:00 PM. The league likes to keep us guessing, I swear.
You know what’s worse? The “international” game. If the Niners are playing in London, you’re waking up at 6:30 AM to catch it. I did that once, and I fell asleep by halftime. My wife still brings it up. “Remember when you missed the whole second half because you napped?” Yes, yes I do.

Reddit and Twitter: the chaos zone
If you want to get the real answer, check the 49ers subreddit. Those fans are militant. They will post the kickoff time, the weather, and the referee’s middle name. It’s a beautiful, chaotic mess.
Twitter is another beast. Someone will tweet “NINERS AT 4:25 CONFIRMED” with no source. Then ten people will argue about it. It’s a gamble. I’d stick with the official sources unless you enjoy gaslighting yourself.
