What if the Lions are playing in a flexible slot? The NFL loves to move games around like a game of musical chairs. One week they’re at 1:00, the next they’re flexed to Sunday Night Football. It’s chaos, but it’s our chaos.
If the game is on a holiday—like Thanksgiving—the time is sacred. It’s always 12:30 PM Eastern. That’s the law. You don’t mess with turkey and Lions football. It’s a Michigan tradition that’s older than your grandma’s cranberry sauce recipe.

And what about a Monday night game? Those start at 8:15 PM. You’ll be tired at work the next day, but you’ll have a story to tell. “I stayed up for the Lions’ last-minute field goal. Worth it.”
How to find the answer without losing your mind
Here’s my foolproof method: open your phone. Type “Detroit Lions schedule” into your browser. Boom—you’ll see the kickoff time in bold. But ignore the “TBD” games. Those are the NFL’s way of saying, “We’ll decide your plans later, so good luck scheduling your life.”
Or, you can do what I do: ask Siri. “Hey Siri, when do the Lions play?” She’ll answer. But if she gets it wrong, blame the AI apocalypse. Not your fault.
