Season 1 was a very personal revenge story. Someone wronged him, so he wronged them back, with extreme violence. It was cathartic in a weird, “don’t try this at home” kind of way.
But Season 2 is apparently scaling up. We’re not just talking about a corrupt CEO or a shady senator. We’re talking about a global conspiracy, people. Think bigger. Think darker. Think scarier.
The first season was based on a single book by Jack Carr. The second season is pulling from multiple novels in the series. Which is terrifying and exciting. It means they’re blending plots, and that usually means more moving parts. And more moving parts means more chances for things to explode.
Chris Pratt: Still Ripped, Still Angry
Let’s be real: the show lives or dies on Chris Pratt’s portrayal of James Reece. In Season 1, he was a man consumed by grief. He was a ghost in military gear. But Season 2 is different. He’s a hunted man who has to become the hunter again.
Pratt has said in interviews that this season is “darker.” I didn’t think that was possible. Remember the scene in the first episode with the nail gun? Yeah. Darker than that? Pass the smelling salts.
