First thing’s first: air conditioning is your best friend and your therapist. If you have it, you are basically a king in a castle. If you don’t, you’re a small potato in a microwave—and we need to fix that.
Head to a place that aggressively cools the air. A grocery store works, but aim for the freezer aisle. Stand there and pretend you’re comparing yogurt brands. Nobody will question you, and your forehead will thank you.
Or, do what I do: take a drive with the AC on full blast and no destination. It’s like a mini-vacation from your own life, except you’re still paying for gas and questioning your car’s fuel efficiency.
The Water Solution (That Isn’t a Pool)
If you don’t have a pool, don’t panic. You have a shower. Or a hose. Or a very large sink. Fill a bucket with cool water and stick your feet in it. It’s the adult equivalent of a kiddie pool, but you get to keep your dignity (mostly).
Another pro tip: eat a popsicle in the shade. Not just any popsicle—one that drips down your wrist like a tiny, sweet waterfall. The mess is part of the experience. Lick your elbow. You’re now a master of thermodynamics.
And if you’re feeling fancy, make a pitcher of iced tea so cold it hurts your teeth. Add lemon. Take a sip. Suddenly, the heat is just background noise to your personal refreshment symphony.
