So, what’s your Easter survival kit? CVS, Walgreens, 7-Eleven, Wawa, McDonald’s, Dunkin’. These are your constants. Your rocks in a sea of chocolate bunnies and closed doors.
Avoid: Banks, most malls, and your local independent bookstore (unless they’re run by atheists). Especially avoid IKEA. It’s closed, and you don’t want to be wandering a dark maze of furniture on a holy day.
Remember: You are not a bad person for shopping on Easter. You are a pragmatist. You are a hero who remembered the marshmallows. That’s a small miracle. And you know what? The store clerk will appreciate you being there. They’re getting paid time-and-a-half. You’re both winning.
Go forth. Buy the Peeps. Eat the ham. And if you see a half-empty shelf of Cadbury Creme Eggs, grab them. That’s the real Easter treasure.
