Your kitchen is a secret science lab that your parents already own. That bag of potatoes in the pantry? That’s gold. You can ask: Which light source makes a potato sprout faster—the fridge light or sunlight? It’s simple, you can eat the evidence, and you win the “most relatable” award.
Another classic? The soggy cereal problem. You hate it. Everyone hates it. Test different milks—whole, skim, oat—and time how long your cereal stays crunchy. You’ll have a project that actually helps breakfast. Your friends will thank you.
Don’t forget the egg-drop challenge with a twist. Instead of just padding a box, test which natural materials—grass, leaves, or crumpled paper—cushion the fall best. It’s loud, messy, and ridiculously fun. Your teacher will see you thinking like an engineer.
