Take the reservoir (the top part) and flip it upside down. You’ll see a hole where the filter goes. Insert the new filter with the O-ring (the rubbery ring) facing up. Push it in until it feels snug—don’t force it like you’re installing a car part. It should click into place with a satisfying “thump.”
Now, twist it clockwise until it locks. Listen for the click! No click means it’s not seated properly, and you’ll have a tiny leak. And a tiny leak is like a tiny lie—it always gets bigger. If you’re unsure, give it one more twist. Your future hydrated self will thank you.
A Quick Check Before You Fill
Place the reservoir back onto the pitcher’s base. Make sure it’s level. Press down gently—it should sit flush. No wobbling. Wobbling means you didn’t push hard enough, and your water will mysteriously end up on your counter. You don’t want to explain that to your roommate or, worse, your plant.
