How to Properly Hydrate

How to Properly Hydrateに挑戦したい方へ、迷わずに進められる ガイドラインをお届けします。

I know, I know—we’re not supposed to talk about bathroom habits in polite company. But hydration is a pee-based science. The color of your urine is your body’s desperate attempt to send you a text message: “Hey, buddy, I’m running low” or “I’m fine, go back to Netflix.”

Aim for a pale, straw-yellow color—like very weak iced tea, not lemonade (that’s too clear, meaning you’re overdoing it) and definitely not apple juice (that’s a red flag for dehydration). If your pee looks like amber ale from a hipster brewery, drink up. If it’s clear enough to read a newspaper through, ease off the gas.

Fun fact: your urine can actually predict your mood. A 2026 study (okay, I made that up, but it sounds true) found that dehydrated people are 20% more likely to snap at a barista for getting their oat-milk latte wrong. Don’t be that person.
