Pour a little apple cider vinegar into a shallow dish. Add a drop of dish soap. The gnats get attracted to the smell, hit the soap, and… well, they don’t come back.
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and poke a few tiny holes. They get in, but they can’t figure the exit. It’s like a gnat escape room with zero chances of winning.
Another trick: a bowl of vinegar with a paper cone taped inside. The gnats follow the scent down the cone and get trapped. Genius.
The red wine trick (my favorite).
Got a half-empty bottle of wine you didn’t finish? Leave a tiny bit in the bottom. Cover the opening with plastic wrap and poke holes.
The gnats love the fermented smell even more than your Friday night. They crawl in, get drunk, and can’t fly out. It’s the most poetic justice.
Just don’t accidentally drink it the next morning. Trust me on this one. You’ll know if you did.
