Picture this: It’s 2007, and Kevin Jonas is busy being a rising pop star, but his heart isn’t totally on the road. He’s also thinking about college, because his family values education as much as music.
Kevin’s sister-in-law (married to his brother, Frankie’s mom, actually) was a student at William Paterson University in New Jersey. She happened to be friends with a pretty blonde named Danielle Deleasa. Small world, right?
So, one day, Kevin’s sister-in-law casually mentioned she wanted to set him up with her friend. And just like that, the stars aligned—or at least their text messages did.
The First Date: A Little Awkward, Mostly Perfect
Kevin decided to be bold. He drove to a pizza place near Danielle’s college. Not a red carpet, not a VIP lounge—just pizza. We love a humble king.
Danielle later admitted she had no idea who Kevin was. She didn’t watch MTV or read teen magazines. When her friends told her, “Uh, he’s in a band called the Jonas Brothers,” she thought they meant The Brothers Johnson or something. Oops!
But here’s the magic: Kevin didn’t care. He liked that she wasn’t star-struck. He liked that she asked him about his day, not his record deal. And she liked that he wasn’t trying to be a big shot.
