So, what are the rules when it comes to military service in South Korea? Well, basically, all able-bodied men have to serve for 18-21 months, unless they're exempt for some reason. And the reasons for exemption are pretty strict, let me tell you. You have to be either really injured, or have a serious illness, or be a genius (like, literally, a certified genius). And even then, it's not a guarantee that you'll get out of serving.
Now, I know what you're thinking: what about all the other K-pop idols? Don't they have to serve in the military too? And the answer is, yes, they do! It's not just BTS, folks. All the other K-pop groups have to deal with this same issue, which is kind of a big deal in the K-pop world.

But hey, at least the BTS members are making the most of the situation. I mean, Jin is apparently loving his time in the military, and the other members are still crushing it on stage and in the studio. So, even though it's a bit of a bummer that they have to serve, at least they're staying positive and making us proud. And who knows, maybe one day we'll even get to see them in their military uniforms, which would be, like, totally adorable!
In the end, it's all about patriotism and serving your country, right? Even if you're a global superstar, you still have to do your duty. And hey, maybe the BTS members will even get to write songs about their experiences in the military, which would be, like, totally epic. A fan can dream, right?
