Once you see that root, it’s showtime. Fill a small pot (the size of your favorite coffee mug) with good potting soil. Plant the seed about an inch deep, with the root pointing down. It knows which way is up, trust me.
Water it gently. Place it in a sunny window. Watch it like a hawk. In a week or two, a pale green stem will punch through the soil. That’s the moment you become a peach parent.
Name it. I named mine “Peachy McPeachface.” He died in a frost. But we had good times. You’ll do better.
