Absolutely. Yes. Even if it doesn’t snow, December in Santa Fe is magical. The farolitos (those little paper lanterns with candles) line every rooftop and sidewalk. The air smells like roasting chiles and pine. The sky is a shade of cobalt that makes you forget the cold.
You’ll bundle up, sip a piñon coffee, and walk under the portals of the Palace of the Governors. And if the snow does fall? It’s a bonus. A beautiful bonus that you’ll brag about to your friends back home.
Final Playful Advice
Pack like you’re going to an Arctic fashion show, but with a backup plan for sunshine. Bring layers. Bring a hat that covers your ears. Bring boots with good grip, because that melted snow turns to ice faster than you can say “margarita.”
Will it snow? Maybe. Will you have an amazing time either way? Absolutely. Santa Fe’s winter is a fickle but gorgeous friend. You just have to be okay with a little uncertainty.
Now go book that trip. And if it snows, send me a photo. I’ll be jealous. I promise.
