is more like a game of representative roulette. Citizens elect representatives to make decisions on their behalf, kind of like hiring a team of superheroes to save the day. But, these reps aren't always on the same page as their constituents, which can lead to some pretty interesting situations.
In indirect democracy, you've got parliaments and congresses where reps gather to debate and vote on laws. It's like a big, long-winded reality TV show, but with more suits and ties. Some countries, like the UK, even have a monarchy thrown into the mix, because why not?
Now, direct democracy can be pretty cool, especially when it comes to referendums and ballot initiatives. Citizens get to vote directly on specific issues, like whether to raise taxes or build a new stadium. It's like a giant, never-ending town hall meeting!
But, there are also some quirky downsides to direct democracy. For example, in some Swiss towns, citizens have voted on things like whether to allow nude hiking or cat ownership. Yep, you read that right - nude hiking!
