Unfortunately, many Black inventors have been overlooked throughout history, but their contributions are no less significant. Take Norbert Rillieux, for example, who invented the multiple-effect evaporator, which changed the sugar industry forever. Or Elijah McCoy, who developed over 50 inventions, including a lubricator for steam engines - talk about a game-changer!
And then there's Mark E. Dean, who co-invented the IBM PC and holds over 20 patents in his name. He's like the MacGyver of the tech world! But despite these impressive achievements, many Black inventors still face significant barriers to success, including lack of funding and resources.
So, what can we do to support these innovators? For starters, we can learn more about their stories and share them with the world. We can also provide opportunities for Black inventors to showcase their talents and connect them with the resources they need to succeed. It's time to give these trailblazers the recognition they deserve!
