Here’s a list of brilliant uses for a Big Yellow unit that nobody tells you about: Seasonal stuff (Christmas decorations, summer tyres), hobby overflow (that mountain of yarn you swear you’ll knit one day), or even a temporary wardrobe when you’re moving house and your closet looks like a bomb exploded. Seriously, it’s a lifesaver.
And if you’re a student or a young professional renting a tiny flat, a storage unit is basically your secret second bedroom. You can keep your bike, your camping gear, and that questionable art project from 2019 all in one place—and your landlord never has to know.
What About Cost? (Let’s Talk Pennies)
Listen, money is tight for everyone. But Big Yellow is surprisingly affordable, especially when you consider the convenience and security. They often run offers—like half-price rent for the first few weeks or free packing materials. Check their website; it’s updated regularly.
Also, you can pay monthly with no long-term contract, so if you only need it for three months during a house renovation, you’re not locked in like a prisoner. You just pay, store, and move on with your life.
